ABOUT OUR BLOG
We decided to start this blog to share our ideas with one another, and with others. We have always wanted to start our own craft/party planning business together, but then life got in the way, and we took different paths. So, this blog is a way for us to partly realize that dream, or just until we can really make it happen!!
Now, a little about us....
MELISSA
WHERE I'VE BEEN
I grew up in Girard, Ohio and attended Hiram College for my Bachelor's in environmental studies. I loved Hiram! It was such a small but wonderful college - which most of the time felt like a big family. From there i moved around a bit and taught environmental education in New Mexico, then was a ranger at Sylvan Lake State Park in Colorado, took a detour and lived in Baltimore for a year, before settling down in Missoula, Montana, where i currently live.
WHERE I AM
I graduated in May from The University of Montana with a Master's in Environmental Studies as well as my Juris Doctorate. I also just passed the Montana Bar exam!! (HOORAY!). Now on to finding a rad job as an environmental lawyer!!... :)
HOW I GOT HERE
Well, it may seem curious that as a lawyer i also have aspirations to be an artist - but in my family, art and music are the law! I was lucky enough to grow up in a family of artists who inspired and promoted creativity and creative thinking in all we did. And although in no way can i draw and paint and create like Allee, (she's good!!!), I have managed to hone some of my own artistic skills, if only to not be the total black sheep of the family! :) In reality though, i love my family and friends so very much and miss them living so far away! But projects like this blog, that Allee and i can work on together keep us connected, despite the miles between us.
ALLYSON
WHERE I'VE BEEN
I graduated from Youngstown State University in 2007 with a degree in Advertising Art. I absolutely love all things creative - art, dance, books, music, fashion, etc! I started dancing when I was 10 years old and continued my dance career throughout college. Dance is a huge part of who I am, and I miss it so much!
WHERE I AM
Currently, I work and live in Pittsburgh, PA. I have an amazing boyfriend and awesome friends! Pittsburgh is a great city - you can always find something to do! In addition to my full time job, I am always gluing, glittering, framing, sewing...something!, organizing my apartment, and trying new recipes. Most importantly, I am just trying to make the most of life and figure out what I want to be when I grow up :-)
HOW I GOT THERE
My family and friends mean everything to me, and although we all live in different parts of the country, we manage to stay connected! Creativity has always been a major force within my family, and it is something that brings joy to us all! (Big thanks to my grandpa and mom for this!)
